Snake Chills Out in Golf Cup at Course in Sydney Suburbs

The second hole at a golf course in suburban Sydney came with an unusual extra hazard recently, when a red-bellied black snake decided to curl up in the cup.

In footage by Luke Goodier, the snake can be seen chilling under the flag before eventually slithering out and across the green at the Coast Golf Club in Little Bay.

Goodier told Storyful that red bellies are common in the area. He said that the snake “stayed and watched a couple of groups come through” before gliding away.

The footage was posted on Instagram by the resort, with a caption saying golfers were happy to take the two putts offered and move on.

“Everyone needs a break from the heat when it’s this hot, even the wildlife,” the caption said. Credit: Luke Goodier via Storyful
