Skateboarder Leticia Bufoni sets world record with jump from plane at 9,000 feet

Brazilian skateboarding star Leticia Bufoni has added another amazing feat to her résumé, doing a record-setting board grind out of an airplane over Merced, California.

Verified by Guinness World Records, Bufoni set the mark for highest skateboard grind outside the back of a flying aircraft when she packed her board and parachute and set out in a C-130 transport plane, the same kind popularized in the "Fast & Furious" move franchise.

While flying at an altitude of 9,022 feet, Bufoni pulled off a new trick she named the "feeble grind" and launched herself into history.

The stunt took place last August, but in an Instagram post on Tuesday, video of Bufoni's slick trick went viral.

"It's crazy to think that I'm the first person to skateboard inside a plane and do a feeble in the air. That’s something I didn’t know was possible or not," she said, according to Guinness. "I’ve never skateboarded on an airplane. I didn’t know that this project would take such a huge proportion as it took."

In her more down-to-earth pursuits, Bufoni, 29, has won a women's record five skateboard street gold medals at the X Games, and her 12 medals won in X Games summer disciplines is also a women's record.

Leticia Bufoni of Brazil finished ninth in the women's street skateboarding competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, one spot away from qualifying for the finals.
