Singer slams negative Instagram comments about her kids’ bodies. ‘Proud of my children’

What was meant to be a fun family photo over Thanksgiving vacation has led to a slew of judgment for pop singer Jessie James Decker and her children.

And she’s letting her critics know she’s had enough.

“I didn’t plan on addressing this because it’s bonkers,” Decker said on Instagram on Monday, Nov. 28. “When I posted the (pictures) of our vacation and included the kids being silly flexing on the beach on our Thanksgiving trip I had NO clue it would get the reaction it did.”

The photo Decker is referring to is a shot of her three children posing on the beach, captioned “Vacation Decker Style.” Vivi, Eric Jr. and Forrest are lean and athletic, with their abdominal muscles easily visible.

While some viewers praised the Deckers, who live in Nashville, for keeping their children so healthy and fit, others had different opinions. Some commented the children’s physiques were “strange,” “terrifying,” “odd,” and “a joke.”

Decker, who has faced harsh judgment about her own body online in the past, certainly isn’t laughing.

“We preach about body positivity and acceptance but my kids having a mass amount of genetic and built muscle from athletics is ‘weird?’” Decker said on Instagram. “Let’s not pick and choose what we normalize regarding bodies and be accepting of all people and children. If we wanna do ‘better’ then do better. I’m proud of my children and encourage them to live their dreams.”

After speaking out about the negative comments, Decker received resounding support from followers.

“You’re a great mom with athletic children. Don’t let this crazy world bring you guys down. Keep shining,” one person said.

“As a national gymnast growing up and having a 6 pack since I was 5, I was ridiculed my whole life about my muscles, being ashamed of them my whole life,” Athlete and fitness influencer Teja Fedrivo commented to Decker. “Preach it mama and show your kiddos how awesome it is to be strong.”
