Sick of being hounded? Dog-gone it, check out these Boise parks which are pooch-free zones

For many people, the thought of a friendly dog bounding up to them in the park is something out of a dream. But for just as many others, it’s the last thing that they want.

Boise has its fair share of off-leash parks and areas — a list of seven parks and nine other areas for dogs to be off-leash and run around can be found on the City of Boise’s website.

But for those who want to enjoy a walk without being approached by a dog — either running free or on a leash — the city offers 15 parks where no animals outside service animals are permitted.

Below is a map with all 15 parks and the addresses for each park. Some parks only have dog restrictions at certain times of the year and are noted as such. Other parks also are connected to the Boise River Greenbelt which does allow dogs on a leash along the pathway.

Additionally, all skate parks in the city are dog-free zones.
