ShowEast Film Expo Canceled, Will Return in 2022

ShowEast, the annual East Coast-based film exhibition convention, has been canceled for 2021, according to the event’s official website.

This year’s even was scheduled for Nov. 8-11 in Miami Beach. There was no official reason stated on the website for the cancellation.

“ShowEast will return to Miami Beach in 2022. We hope to see you there!” the parting message read.

According to the site, ShowEast “features a range of exclusive product presentations and screenings from both Independent and Major Hollywood studios to help you make important programming decisions for the 4th quarter box office. ShowEast’s International program draws a large contingency of Latin and South American delegates – more than any other convention of its kind. A one and a half day program dedicated to the latest content and concerns and within this rising region.”

It is considered a counterpart to NATO’s CinemaCon, which is held annually in Las Vegas.

CinemaCon returned this year with strict protocols in place after being canceled last year due to the pandemic.

ShowEast’s organizers did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
