Yahoo Movies Shop London: Our resident shopping expert’s top picks
Shop London is back, and just in the nick of time because my home decor needs an urgent spring spruce. The third winter lockdown has felt especially tough as the icy weather meant I spent more time than ever inside my four walls. Although it’s gone through a few incarnations, the latest version has looked pretty much the same since Christmas, but with restrictions lifting and spring here, it’s time for a change.
Luckily there’s plenty of choice to be found in Shop London, with dozens of cool homewares brands offering excellent discounts from April 12 - 18. From fragrant scented candles, to arty prints and even breakfast essentials befitting the most important meal of the day, there are treasures galore to be unearthed, added to basket and have delivered to your door (neatly swerving the crowds and queues on the high street).
To help inspire, I’ve drawn up a wishlist of items I’ve been eyeing up that make perfect treats - I’m telling myself they could be gifts but no promises I won’t keep them for myself.

Nothing will eclipse my love of a framed print in the homewares department, but it’s nice to break up the perfectly aligned squares. Each purchase comes complete with fittings and Command Strips so you just need to plug in and go.

Legendary TV artist Bob Ross has been my lockdown saviour this past year. Whenever things have felt overwhelming, watching him paint on BBC iPlayer has felt calming and soothing. So when I saw Ohh Deer’s collection inspired by his signature nature scenes, of course I fell upon them with glee. This greeting card for new homeowners makes me smile with its pure, sweet message and will be perfect to post to friends who have just moved house.

It feels like you can’t go a few seconds without seeing a body part-inspired candle on Instagram these days. While busts and heads are lovely (and if you appreciate the female form, I heartily recommend Daily Flame’s designs, another Shop London participant), there’s something about this bottom’s up candle that I find irresistibly cheeky and playful. It comes in a variety of shades, but with apple green the shade of choice at LFW, it’s the one I’m plumping for.

Who doesn’t love a bit of fairytale romance in the bedding department? While my funds can’t quite stretch to a four poster yet, I can still inject princess vibes with this beautifully embroidered bed canopy from Camomile London. Made from 100 per cent cotton gauze, it’s perfect for lazing under on weekend mornings this summer.
Conk Concrete Egg Cup

I’ve never seen anything quite like this concrete egg cup from homewares brand Conk - which is one of the reasons it’s made my wishlist. The handmade piece feels a safe space for my boiled eggs to sit, but I could also use it to hold tea light candles and my collection of rings too.
