When Dr Latika Nath forayed into the space of wildlife conservation, there were just a handful of women in the field . Today, Instagram pages dedicated to ‘women of the wild’ are proof of women’s increasing participation in fieldwork.

Sherni, a recent film on Amazon Prime with actress Vidya Balan playing a forest officer, is testimony to the headway that women in wildlife are making. When mainstream media puts a spotlight on women in wildlife, the world sits up and takes notice, says Dr Latika Nath.
