Severe Thunderstorm Brings Flash Flooding to Southeast Queensland

Flash flooding left parts of southeast Queensland underwater after a severe thunderstorm swept through the area and dumped a deluge of rain on January 18.

More than 100 millimetres, or around four inches, of rain was recorded in one hour in the city of Redland.

The Bureau of Meteorology warned of “life-threatening flash flooding and damaging winds” for bayside suburbs including Cleveland and Beenleigh.
