Segment of Sacramento RT light rail will not operate this weekend. Here’s what to know

The Sacramento Regional Transit Gold Line light rail service will not be available this weekend between stations in Midtown and Rosemont because of construction on the Brighton Bridge.

The Gold Line light rail trains will not operate between the 29th Street and Watt/Manlove stations starting Saturday morning through 7 p.m. Sunday, RT officials announced Wednesday morning in a news release.

Passengers will need to transfer to shuttle buses that will serve each station during the closure. No other light rail lines will be affected by the construction.

RT officials said if the construction work is not completed this weekend, a second service disruption will occur the following weekend, Nov. 6 through Nov. 7.

Gold Line passengers heading east toward the Watt/Manlove station from 29th will need to board a shuttle bus at the following locations:

29th Street: northbound 30th at route 67/68 bus stop.

39th Street: southbound 39th just before the light rail tracks at the cut out.

48th Street: northbound 48th just past the light rail tracks.

59th Street: southbound 59th just past the light rail tracks.

University/65th: bus loop.

Power Inn: inside bus loop at route 61 bus stop.

College Greens: eastbound Folsom Boulevard at route 61 bus stop cut out.

Watt/Manlove:eastbound Folsom Boulevard at route 80/84 bus stop.

Gold Line passengers heading west from Watt/Manlove to 29th will need to board a shuttle bus at the following locations:

Watt/Manlove: inside bus loop at route 72 bus stop.

College Greens: Folsom Boulevard just past Julliard Drive.

Power Inn: inside bus loop at route 61 bus stop.

University/65th: bus loop.

59th Street: southbound 59th just past the light rail tracks.

48th Street: northbound 48th just past the light rail tracks.

39th Street: southbound 39th just before the light rail tracks at the cut out.

29th Street: southbound 29th at route 67/68 bus stop.
