See expansive, Spanish-style villa of late Hollywood icon Frank Lloyd for sale for $8M

The restored former Spanish-style villa of Hollywood legend Frank Lloyd, founder of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, has hit the market for $7.995 million.

“Restored and renovated, this classic Spanish villa compound is one of Los Feliz’s most coveted legacy estate properties with explosive downtown Los Angeles and coast views,” said listing agent Timothy Di Prizito.

Di Prizito holds the listing with agent Joyce Rey of the Beverly Hills office of Coldwell Banker Realty.

Located at 2310 N Catalina St., Los Angeles, California, the 5,200-square-foot residence has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

“Showcasing distinctive original details and romantic Hollywood character, the home encompasses a welcoming entry, grand formal living room with fireplace, formal dining room and separate lounge and library rooms,” according to the listing.

The updated, open kitchen connects to a den. Upstairs, the primary bedroom features a vaulted trussed ceiling and dual bathrooms with a steam shower and infinity soaking tub.

The home goes complete Hollywood with a state-of-the-art movie theater. There’s a wine cellar and wine tasting room.

Expansive lush grounds cover a nearly half-acre of land with several outdoor dining/living areas with a covered pergola and waterfall grotto, as well as a state-of-the-art pool, outdoor kitchen, bathroom and pool cabana.

On the property is a detached guest house with vintage fireplace, bathroom and an outdoor shower.

The home was built in 1924.

Lloyd was a director, actor, script writer and producer. He died in 1960 at the age of 74.
