'Saturday Night Live' Host Keke Palmer Reveals Her Favorite Holiday Traditions

Actress, television personality, and singer Keke Palmer is crossing a new career milestone as she takes on hosting duties for Saturday Night Live. It doesn't take much for the 29-year-old to light up a room, and now she's getting ready to bring some extra holiday cheer in more ways than one.

Before diving headfirst into the viral comedic skits, Keke dove headfirst into the holiday spirit by teaming up with McCormick for their new flavorful kit called The Ten, a giftable set of 10 essential herbs and spices meant to inspire cooks through the holidays and beyond. After all, preparing a delicious meal for loved ones is central to this time of year.

Country Living caught up with the Scream Queens actress to hear how she celebrates the holiday. Of course, we couldn't just do any plain ole interview with the hilarious actress so we asked her 10 festive rapid-fire questions in honor of her special collaboration with The Ten by McCormick.

Let's dive right in, shall we?

Country Living: So Keke, what is your most fond family holiday tradition?

Keke Palmer: My most fond holiday tradition is watching It's a Wonderful Life. It's my dad's favorite movie. One of my most special holiday memories is our first Christmas in California—we couldn't afford a tree, so we made one out of paper with flour and water as glue.

CL: What is your favorite holiday tradition that you've continued into adulthood?

KP: Every year we watched A Diva's Christmas Carol. This was our favorite Scrooge take!

CL: Now, this one is very important: ham or turkey?

KP: Ham obvi!

CL: Great! Side dishes are the main course in our opinion! What's your favorite holiday side dish that'll have you going back for second?

KP: Dressing, sweet potatoes, potato salad, and mac and cheese.

CL: If you're asked to bring a homemade dish to the holiday party, what are you whipping up?

KP: Mac and cheese, if anything!

CL: What's your advice for those who aren't yet comfortable being in the kitchen or feeling uninspired to cook?

KP: Do it with someone. Sometimes making cooking an activity with those you love gets you into the vibe.

CL: Great advice, Keke. Time to get to the nitty-gritty. What's your favorite gift you've received?

KP: I don't think anything material, so I would say my family.

CL: And the favorite gift you've given?

KP: Love! This is a hard question. I just don't think there is a greater gift that time and love with those you love. Especially when you work as much as I do.

CL: If you could only listen to one holiday song leading up to Christmas, what would it be?

KP: "This Christmas" by Donny Hathaway. The best.

CL: Agreed! Now, imagine you get to invite your favorite celebrity (dead or alive) to your holiday party. Who would that be?

KP: I'm definitely going with Whitney. I feel like we would turn it out.

With Keke's upcoming SNL hosting gig and some tips from comedian Amy Schumer up her sleeve...

...we have a hunch that if the promo video is this funny then the upcoming episode will have us laughing all through the holidays.
