Saturday Night Live Airs Preview of Jim Carrey as Joe Biden and Maya Rudolph as Kamala Harris

Saturday Night Live will kick off its 46th (!!!) season on Saturday, October 3, with guest host Chris Rock and musical guest Megan Thee Stallion. The show will return to the famous Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center after finishing up last season remotely, with cast members filming from home.

Aside from Rock and Megan, there's another duo getting a lot of buzz ahead of the season premiere: Jim Carrey and Maya Rudolph, who will play Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in several sketches ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

SNL released a new teaser that gives a first look at Carrey transforming into the former V.P. and current Democratic nominee for president—and we have to say, he looks pretty convincing. Rudolph, meanwhile, has played vice presidential nominee Harris before, and her transformation is as spot-on as ever. (Alec Baldwin is set to return as Donald Trump, a role he's played on the show for years now.)

“It's really such an honor to be involved in any presidential race, and this one is a real doozy. So it is really an honor,” Rudolph previously told Entertainment Tonight about playing Harris, which won her an Emmy. “I got to meet her, and she is so fantastic. She is so incredible. She is so energizing, and I just feel so good to be associated with someone so positive. I just want to do her proud. Just do a good job, no pressure!”

Saturday Night Live fans are getting excited about seeing the duo in action. “Yasssssssssss!! Cool Auntie Kamala is back!” one person tweeted. “I hope this is deep belly laugh funny because we really need it. No pressure @MayaRudolph @JimCarrey,” another wrote.

SNL also released a clip of Rock and Megan Thee Stallion, masked up and ready to go live on Saturday.

Given the latest news cycle—with both President Donald Trump and Melania testing positive for COVID-19 and the release of the “Melania tapes”—we're guessing the writers won't be at a loss for material.
