The BBC recently announced that their hit show, Killing Eve, will be back on screens in 2022 – thank the TV gods. We can't wait to see what our fave, albeit dysfunctional duo, Eve Polastri and Villanelle (played by Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer), get up to in the fourth and final season. But in the meantime, how can we fill that Sandra Oh shaped hole in our lives?

Luckily for us, Netflix has the answer to our prayers. Here's everything we know about the streaming giant's new series, The Chair, which stars – you guessed it – Sandra Oh.

What's The Chair about?

The Chair follows Canadian-born Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim who is the Chair of the English Department at Pembroke University. "Ji-Yoon is faced with a unique set of challenges as the first woman to chair the department, and as one of the few staff members of colour at the university," reads the series synopsis (Tyla).

The series will be made up of six half-hour episodes.

Who will star in The Chair?

Alongside Sandra Oh (who plays the lead, Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim), Holland Taylor – who starred in Legally Blonde – takes on the role of Joan Hambling, Ji-Yoon's straight talking friend and confidant.

Other cast mates include Jay Duplass from The Mindy Project, Nana Mensah from Bonding, and Bob Balaban from The Politician. Everly Carganilla, from Netflix's Yes Day, stars as Ji-Yoon’s daughter.

Who is producing the series?

The Chair is the first series written and produced by Amanda Peet, who starred in 2012's Brockmire. Amanda's husband, David Benioff, is executive producing, along with D.B. Weiss and Daniel Gray Longino. Game of Throne's Bernie Caulfield is also producing, as well as Sandra Oh herself.

When will The Chair be released?

Netflix announced the release date of the much-anticipated series on Twitter with a mocked-up student newspaper: "Pull up a seat and meet The Chair, a new comedy starring @IamSandraOh and created by Amanda Peet. Premieres August 27."

A close look at The Pembroke Daily gives a few more hints about what to expect from the show. The article focusses on Ji-Yoon's hiring, and adds that her role is a "a last ditch effort" to save a "sinking" department.

Is there a trailer?

There's no official trailer yet, so keep your eyes peeled on Netflix for any sneak peeks.
