San Diego Padres unveil their new City Connect jerseys featuring green and pink

The San Diego Padres unveiled their new Nike City Connect Series uniforms on Friday.

The Padres' new jerseys pay homage to the team's "binational fanbase" with colors that represent the coastal community.

“Two cities, two cultures, one home team,” said Manny Machado, Padres third baseman, in the team’s release video.

The jerseys are also a nod to the landscapes and artwork of the city and the Baja Peninsula.

The Padres, who are in second place in the NL West entering Friday, will debut the uniforms on July 8 and wear them for every subsequent Friday home game.
