A salad dressing got recalled after Aldi stores noticed a potentially serious problem

Wrong salad dressing in the wrong bottles created a problem with potentially “serious or life-threatening” consequences and caused one lot of Aldi’s store brand salad dressing to be recalled nationwide.

TreeHouse Foods, which makes the salad dressing for Aldi, recalled Tuscan Garden Restaurant Style Italian Dressing with an expiration date of 8/10/2023 after getting two store complaints that bottles contained Asian Sesame Dressing.

Aside from taste, that means there’s soy and wheat in the bottle and the label warns about allergens egg and dairy.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the TreeHouse-written, FDA-posted recall notice states.

If this food allergy problem means nothing to you and you’re fine with the different dressing, carry on as usual. If someone with a soy or wheat allergy might use the dressing, return it to the Aldi of purchase for a full refund.
