Safilo Group and Stuart Weitzman Announce Multiyear Licensing Agreement
Safilo Group said Wednesday it has signed a multiyear exclusive global licensing agreement with footwear label Stuart Weitzman. The agreement, which runs through June 2029, will be for Stuart Weitzman-branded sunglasses and optical eyewear collections.
“Building on our long history and successful collaboration with Tapestry Inc., we are very proud to start this new partnership with Stuart Weitzman, an iconic brand that is synonymous with women’s global luxury footwear,” said Angelo Trocchia, the chief executive officer of Safilo Group. “As this agreement marks the coveted footwear brand’s entry into eyewear, we are excited to introduce to the market a distinctively designed launch collection. Furthermore, Stuart Weitzman represents an excellent brand addition to our portfolio in the women’s luxury eyewear segment.”

The licensing agreement will begin with Stuart Weitzman’s fall 2024 eyewear collection, which will offer sunglasses and optical eyewear.
“Stuart Weitzman is known for creating stylish, comfortable, high-quality shoes that inspire confidence — and just like footwear, eyewear is an emotional, everyday accessory,” said Giorgio Sarné, Stuart Weitzman CEO and brand president. “Our goal is to infuse our signature values into eyewear and create accessories that help our consumers look and feel their best.”
This is Safilo Group’s latest licensing agreement this year. The eyewear company previously signed a 10-year licensing agreement with Etro in June.
The agreement also comes at a time of growth for Safilo Group. In May, the company reported revenues in the first quarter of this year were 287.2 million euros, up 1.6 percent year-over-year
