Sacramento Halloween weekend guide: This midtown festival returns — plus there’s a bar crawl

It’s officially time to celebrate Halloween and more — with the help of The Sacramento Bee’s weekend guide.

So impress your family and friends with the countless possibilities of fun, including a Halloween festival and pooch parade, a bike race in downtown Sacramento or a Halloween bar crawl.

Below are several events posted on Downtown Sac’s website, so check out what our weekend guide has to offer and pile on as many events as you can:

FRIDAY

Celebrate Vosswood Studio’s first anniversary

Vosswood Studio, 1800 21st St., Sacramento

Vosswood is a natural stone jewelry business started within owner Matt Rivera’s home. Come celebrate the studio’s first successful year with music, food, desserts, artists, drinks, vendors and more.

The donation-based celebration starts at 7:30 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m.

SATURDAY

Join a Halloween costume crawl

Republic Bar and Grill, 908 15th St., Sacramento

Join Sac Bar Crawl for Nightmare on K Street, a Sacramento Halloween costume crawl for multiple bars and restaurant stops that will end at a block party.

Your wristband will grant you access to every bar and its drink specials, and there will be free merchandise and a $500 costume contest. The 21-plus event runs from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Take your furry friend to a Halloween festival and pooch parade

Marshall Park - 915 27th St., Sacramento

Presented by Sutter District restaurants, the Midtown Halloween Festival and Pooch Parade is back after a one-year hiatus. The event is scheduled to have arts and crafts, a bounce house, live music and more at Marshall Park.

The canine-friendly event is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. with a costume contest and prizes. The afternoon event runs from noon to 3 p.m.

Watch cyclists compete for $100,000 in downtown Sacramento

California State Capitol - West Steps, 10th Street and Capitol Avenue, Sacramento

The fastest criterium cyclists in the U.S. will come together in downtown Sacramento and compete for a 100,000 prize purse at the first “Into the Lion’s Den.”

Cyclist fans can expect a day of racing and family-friendly events in the state capital, including a Halloween ride, bike exposition, two professional races and more. The event starts at noon and goes until 7 p.m.

SUNDAY

Join a Dia De Los Muertos celebration

Pachamama East Sacramento - 3644 J St., Sacramento

Pachamama Coffee will host its first Dia de los Muertos celebration in East Sacramento with coffee, live music, baked goods and handmade crafts. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Enjoy Family Day at Flatstick Pub

Flatstick Pub - 630 K St., Sacramento

Grab the family and head to Sacramento’s Flatstick Pub for a day of mini-golf, cornhole, oversized Jenga, food and more. Local brews and cocktails will also be available for parents.

The event start from noon to 10 p.m.
