Update: Kidnapped sons ‘recovered’, Sacramento County father now in custody, DA’s office says

A Sacramento County man is now in custody a day after prosecutors asked the public to help find him and his sons, two weeks after they were allegedly kidnapped following a court custody decision.

Charlie Ramos and his two sons were recovered Wednesday, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office said. A spokeswoman for the DA’s office said Ramos was taken into custody and will appear in court at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The three were last seen Sept. 15 near a Circle K convenience store on Northgate Boulevard in Sacramento, the DA’s office said on Tuesday after a Sacramento Superior Court judge granted a warrant for Ramos’ capture.

Prosecutors said Ramos, 44, abducted his sons after the boys’ mother was granted custody.

No further details were available about the condition of the boys, ages 11 and 15.
