Ryan Seacrest Returning to ‘Live’ Just Weeks After Leaving

This is not a drill: Ryan Seacrest is coming back to Live after making his official departure last month—but it’s only temporary.

Per an exclusive report by People, the former morning show host, 48, will make a guest appearance on Thursday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark to promote the upcoming season finale of American Idol, where he still serves as a host.

This will be the first time Seacrest has appeared on the show since making his official departure in April.

Back in February, the former Live host announced that he would be leaving the morning show after co-hosting with Kelly Ripa, 52, for six years.

Upon his departure, Seacrest was replaced by Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, 52, and the show was renamed Live with Kelly and Mark.

People also mentioned the American Idol host will discuss the Ryan Seacrest Foundation and how it is opening up a new location at the Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

According to the official website, the non-profit organization’s mission aims to “inspire today’s youth through entertainment and education-focused initiatives.”

A month has passed since Seacrest said goodbye to Live in his emotional final episode. On his last day, the producers for the show shared BTS pics and vids on social media. One video showed Seacrest wiping away tears on his sleeve while standing next to his former co-host, Ripa.

And if that wasn’t enough, the official Live Instagram page dedicated a special farewell video to Seacrest, honoring his time on the show. The video montage featured a bunch of memorable moments Seacrest and Ripa shared over the years.

Glad to have you back on Live, Ryan!
