The Rush: Mexico registers earthquake with massive upset over Germany in World Cup

As if Mexico’s 1-0 upset over defending World Cup champ Germany wasn’t bonkers enough, fans of El Tri caused a seismic shift of their own.  Yes, earthquake censors were triggered as thousands of people watching the first Group F match in Mexico City lost their collective minds when Hirving Lozano scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal in the first half.  Both Mexico and Germany play their next games on Saturday against South Korea and Sweden, respectively.

The scene was a bit more serene at Shinecock Hills Golf Course where Brooks Koepka won the U.S. Open.  Koepka’s second consecutive U.S. Open title makes him $2M richer than he was yesterday…before taxes.
