The Biden administration on Thursday finalized a new rule for public land management that's meant to put conservation on more equal footing with oil drilling, grazing and other extractive industries on vast government-owned properties. Officials pushed past strong opposition from private industry and Republican governors to adopt the proposal. Betts died surrounded by family in his home in Osprey, Florida, according to a statement from his family.According to his manager David Spero, the cause of death was cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which is commonly caused by smoking. The Arkansas Supreme Court on Thursday said a judge wrongly denied a request for new genetic testing of crime scene evidence from the killing of three boys nearly 30 years ago.
