Supporters of the royal family were left up in arms after a trailer for a new dramatised show, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, depicts the soon-to-be-wed couple engaging in a sex scene.

The trailer may only be around 20 seconds long, but it’s the debatably x-rated content that’s angered some.

The TV movie, made by and aired on US channel Lifetime, shows some pretty cringe-worthy moments between the two, ranging from Harry, 33, popping the question to Meghan, 36, romantic walks in big fields, and the pair in bed together naked.

And it’s the latter that has upset one person in particular, one Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills, who is founder and chairman of the British Monarchist Society. He told the Daily Star: ‘Common decency has been violated,’ he claimed. ‘The scene showing the couple naked in bed is the ultimate appeal to those who are drawn in by such filth and perversion.’

Watch the trailer for a glimpse at the, ahem, saucy scenes for yourself…

In truth, the trailer doesn’t seem all that salacious (if at all). The real offence should be voiced when we see just how cheesy it all is.

The film stars British actor Murray Fraser as Harry and Parisa Fitz-Henley, with a number of other actors forming a supporting cast to play various roles that include Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles, and Kate Middleton.

Unsurprisingly, royal representatives declined to comment on the trailer and the film itself.

The movie is set to air on 13 May, which is just six days before the couple’s actual wedding on 19 May.
