Roll your recycling, trash bins out in Charlotte Monday. Revised pickup due to storm

Charlotte residents who didn’t receive collection on Friday should place their trash and recycling bins and yard and bulk waste curbside on Monday.

Because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and winter storms, about 5,000 customers received no collection on Friday, Jan. 21, according to a news release by the city on Saturday.

Those customers will receive “priority collection” on Monday, city officials said.

Garbage, yard waste and bulk items will be collected on a regular schedule beginning on Monday, according to the city.

Recycling collection will operate on a one-day delay this week, starting with customers who would normally receive collection on Monday.

Customers who receive recycling collection this week should place their bins at the curb a day late, and Friday customers will have their recycling collected on Saturday, Jan. 29.

The changes don’t apply to customers who received recycling collection between Jan. 18 and Jan. 21, since the upcoming week is not a recycling week for those households.

The week of Jan. 24 is green recycling week.
