Rolesville is peaking at right time; Princeton stalking Cardinal Gibbons in Sweet 16

There’s an old adage about playing your best football at the right time of the season.

Sure, Rolesville was a state finalist a year ago, but this season got off to a rocky start, and the team barely made the playoffs. But once in the second season, all Rolseville has done is draw on its experience from a year ago and win.

And win big.

That’s led to Rolsesville climbing quickly through the Sweet 16, but more importantly to the team, remaining alive as the number of teams alive in state competition has reached critical mass. Only 16 total teams remain, four in each class, and Rolesville is among them, traveling this week to Cardinal Gibbons for an Eastern region final showdown.

Also making a move this week is Princeton. Still unbeaten in its division, Princeton has jumped into the No. 2 position.
