'Rogue One' Home Edition: New 'Star Wars: Battlefront' Trailer Puts You in the Movie Action

Before you see Rogue One, you’ll able to play it. Rogue One: Scarif, an expansion pack to last year’s hit Star Wars: Battlefront, will be available to download beginning Dec. 6 and publisher EA previewed the action in a trailer on Thursday.

As shown in the footage above, gamers can pick a side and play as Rebel hero Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) or Imperial officer Orson Krennic (Ben Mendolsohn) as the Alliance and Empire forces engage in a brutal ground battle on the tropical planet of Scarif — one of the key locations in the upcoming film.

Battlefront producers had access to footage and props to create the photorealistic scenario, which includes new vehicles like AT-ACTS and U-wings, and scads of Krennic’s formidable Death Troopers. Gameplay takes place across four new maps; there is also a multi-stage mode that includes ground and space combat.

Fans who have the Battlefront season pass on all platforms will be able to download Rogue One: Scarif for free on Dec. 6 — 10 days before the film hits theaters; otherwise, it will be available to download Dec. 20
