Roger Waters brought his “This Is Not A Drill Tour” to Raleigh, N.C.’s PNC Arena, Thursday night, Aug. 18, 2022.
Waters performed in-the-round on a stage featuring large video boards with messages. A warning scrolled across the screen as the show began, advising those who loved Pink Floyd but hate his political views to depart in no uncertain terms.
Four Pink Floyd songs, “Comfortably Numb,” followed by “The Happiest Days of Our Lives” and “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2,” and “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 3,” opened the first set.
His second set of the evening included hits “Money” and “Us and Them.”

Kenneth Walker III rushed for 97 yards and two second-half touchdowns, Jason Myers kicked four field goals, and the Seattle Seahawks pulled away in the second half for a 37-27 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Walker was a star on a day things didn’t come easily for Seattle’s offense for the first three quarters. Walker’s 36-yard reception midway through the third quarter set up his 1-yard touchdown run after Seattle had settled for field goals every other time it reached Carolina’s side of the field.
Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen and the Los Angeles Chargers had seen a Brian Flores-coached defense before, flummoxed in 2020 by Flores’ blitz-heavy approach in a loss at Miami during Herbert’s rookie season. Three years later, with the quarterback and receiver in nearly perfect synch, Herbert and Allen knew just how to attack the Minnesota Vikings' defense, coordinated by Flores. Herbert completed 40 of 47 passes for 405 yards and three touchdowns, and Allen had a franchise-record 18 receptions for a career-high 215 yards in Los Angeles’ 28-24 victory on Sunday.
The European Union, G7 countries and Australia introduced a price cap of $60 a barrel on Russian oil in last December, aiming to curb Russia's ability to finance the conflict in Ukraine. However, Russian oil revenues are likely to increase due to constant increases in crude prices and a reduction in the discount on its own oil, the FT report said, citing Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) estimates. Russia cut its seaborne diesel and gasoil exports by nearly 30% to about 1.7 million metric tons in the first 20 days of September from the same time in August.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Gifted great field position when their defense forced a turnover, the Tennessee Titans moved the ball — backwards. Incredibly, that was when they scored their only points in a 27-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Derrick Henry was held to 20 yards rushing, quarterback Ryan Tannehill got sacked five times and harassed many more and the Titans were held to 94 yards, their lowest output since they pulled up stakes in Houston and relocated to Tennessee in 1997. It was the franchise's
Sir Brian May has said he is "immensely proud" to be part of the team who successfully collected NASA's first asteroid samples from deep space. A capsule containing around 250g of rocks and dust collected from asteroid Bennu touched down in the Utah desert near Salt Lake City on Sunday. Earlier in the day, the Osiris-Rex spacecraft released the sample capsule around 63,000 miles out during a flyby of Earth.
HONOLULU (AP) — From just outside the burn zone in Lahaina, Jes Claydon can see the ruins of the rental home where she lived for 13 years and raised three children. Little remains recognizable beyond the jars of sea glass that stood outside the front door. On Monday, officials will begin lifting restrictions on entry to the area, and Claydon hopes to collect those jars and any other mementos she might find. “I want the freedom to just be there and absorb what happened,” Claydon said. "Whatever I
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Yankees missed the playoffs for the first time since 2016, getting mathematically eliminated with a rainy 7-1 loss Sunday to the Arizona Diamondbacks as Zac Gallen got his 17th win. Arizona won for the sixth time in seven games and remained in position for the NL’s second wild card, a half-game ahead of the Chicago Cubs. The Diamondbacks also clinched their first winning season since 2019. On a windy, raining afternoon when fly balls became unpredictable, Gallen (17-
CHICAGO (AP) — Megan Rapinoe got a triumphant send-off, and the United States beat South Africa 2-0 on Sunday. Trinity Rodman and Emily Sonnett scored, and the U.S. sent its captain toward retirement with one final victory as a member of the national team. The 38-year-old Rapinoe was presented a framed jersey representing her 203 games with the United States prior to the win, and she raised her arms as the crowd roared. Rodman gave the U.S. more to celebrate when she drilled the ball into the ne
LEUVEN, Belgium (AP) — Lithuanian teenager Dominika Banevič and American Victor Montalvo both qualified for next year’s Paris Olympics after winning the World Breaking Championship on Sunday. The 16-year-old Banevič, known as B-Girl Nicka, was the youngest in her category at the event in Leuven, Belgium. She concluded her battle by lifting herself up on her right arm and twisting her body almost completely around. She drew finger-clicking appreciation from her beaten opponent, 40-year-old Ayumi
