River Ouse Floods Central York After Heavy Rain From Storm Christoph

The centre of York was left flooded as heavy rain from Storm Christoph swelled the River Ouse on Wednesday, January 20.

Large parts of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland remained under rain and snow warnings due to the storm.

A flood warning was in force for the St George’s Field and Queens Staith areas of York. The river was expected to peak at more than four meters on Thursday.
