Rhuigi Villaseñor Unveils Bally's SS23 Collection

Creative Director Rhuigi Villaseñor has revealed his first BALLY collection , delivering an exploration of European luxury through a familiar American lens. The Spring/Summer 2023 collection offers elevated yet easy to wear garments that exude the kind of relaxed sophistication only the truly wealthy enjoy.

"In fashion as in our daily lives, beauty is always linked to a sense of place and identity: Ideas and gestures we can understand and connect with on a personal level. When I discovered the Bally universe, it was clear to me that my energy and my point of view would be the catalyst for a renaissance, two decades since the last Bally runway show. Placing Swiss craft and European art of living in harmony with my own American story, I've called this collection ECDYSIS1 -- a reset and a celebration of radical luxury," shares Villaseñor in an exclusive press release.

While the collection comes in a grounded color palette of mustard yellow, khaki green, deep browns and pinks, the silhouettes are anything but modest. Plunging chocolate bathing suits join futuristic chrome pink motorcycle jackets. A deep indigo shirt dress steals the show as its hip-high thigh slit is emphasized by a boudoir-inspired crystal mesh boot.

Tiger printed silk velvet embodies the playful elegance of the collection. Elsewhere, slinky, cleavage-baring catch the eye as the slips are adorned with a statement-making interlocking gold emblem. Inspired by Bally’s tradition of elastic-making. Meanwhile, silk pajamas blur the lines between masculine and feminine, presenting a subtle androgynous ensemble. Accessories do not play second string as handbags arrive covered in an overabundance of hardware and bangles nearly swallow wrists.
