Retro-Style 'Batman v. Superman' Trailer: Adam West and Christopher Reeve Go Head-to-Head

If the first teaser is any indication, Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill are on a serious collision course in next year’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. But what if previous incarnations of those two iconic superheroes got in on the battle? YouTube editor Bobby Burns has done us all a favor and refashioned the first trailer for director Zack Snyder’s Batman-Supes saga with footage of the franchises’ torchbearers: Christopher Reeve as the Man of Steel and Adam West as the not-so-Dark Knight. (Watch the video above.)

The new clip is a slice of nostalgia gold. Reeve, who first took flight in 1978’s Superman, has never looked so menacing, while West, who first played the Caped Crusder in 1966’s Batman: The Movie, brings the comic relief with the help of Burt Ward’s Robin. (We’d love it if the real Batman v. Superman resurrected the Instant Costume Change Lever.)
