Reneé Rapp, Kimora Lee Simmons and More Rocked the Denim Trend at Teen Vogue Summit 2023 — See Photos

Singer and actor Reneé Rapp, model and designer Kimora Lee Simmons, former Teen Vogue Editor in Chief Elaine Welteroth and current Teen Vogue Editor in Chief Versha Sharma all took the stage at Teen Vogue Summit 2023 this past weekend, but there’s something else they happened to have in common: denim!

Taking place in sunny (and sometimes rainy and chilly) Los Angeles, Teen Vogue Summit and Block Party was a celebration of dreams and self-empowerment, and we all know a fierce outfit can help with that. So, it’s not surprising that one of the hottest trends at the event was denim. While trusty, classic denim never goes out of style, the denim-on-denim look has become a modern day phenomenon. (Thank you, Britney Spears!) And that was apparent throughout the Summit and Block Party.

As the host for the day, Versha Sharma wore a light-wash denim blazer and matching denim corset top from Sergio Hudson. She even matched her eye shadow to the denim hue, sporting a light baby blue contrasted by sharp cat eye liner.

Later, Teen Vogue’s September cover star Aoki Lee Simmons joined the stage with her mother and Baby Phat founder Kimora Lee Simmons. She similarly wore a denim corset top and a matching pair of bell bottom jeans in a dark wash. To accessorize, she wore layered diamond-encrusted silver necklaces, giving the look a Y2K vibe.

Elaine Welteroth followed soon after, wearing a denim jacket and pants set that gave the illusion of a jumpsuit from 3.1 Philip Lim. The jeans were a straight-leg fit, accentuated by cuffed hems. Welteroth wore the jacket loosely tied, allowing one side to be worn off the shoulder. She completed the look with a silver Coach Tabby bag and matching heels.

To close out the night, Reneé Rapp performed and gave us another dose of denim. She donned an oversized denim pantsuit. Worn with wide leg jeans, she styled the asymmetrical jean jacket that was cinched at the waist by leaving the bottom buttons undone. She kept the accessories to a minimum, opting for just a silver chain necklace and OHTNYC Infinity Pearl Earrings.

Most notably, everyone put their own spin on the denim trend, showcasing how versatile it is. It’s always important to show off your personal style when you’re joining a trend, and jeans are the perfect way to do just that.
