The country superstar took the field to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Sunday's game between the Chiefs and 49ers
Stepping onto the field in a tan blazer, black shirt beaded fringe jeans and a giant belt buckle, the country legend, 68, delivered a moving rendition of the national anthem.
As she sang for the stadium, McEntire's outfit glittered for everyone to see.
Earlier in the day, McEntire rocked a blue furry coat, jeans and blue cowboy boots for a monochromatic look, but she swapped it all out before hitting the field.
On Jan. 18, the NFL revealed the pregame performance lineup that will lead into the highly anticipated championship match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The “Fancy” singer would sing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” followed by Post Malone performing “America the Beautiful” and Andra Day closing with “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
With the announcement, McEntire released a press statement expressing how “honored” she was to partake in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. "2024 marks 50 years since I was discovered singing the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo," she continued in the statement. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate that anniversary.”
Continuing her run of good news, on Jan. 29, NBCUniversal confirmed that McEntire will return to television for a sitcom series, 17 years after her hit self-titled sitcom.
The logline of the proposed pilot reads, “Reba inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had.”
Since her Emmy-nominated sitcom ended after six seasons, McEntire has played leading roles on the ABC sitcom Malibu Sky and crime drama Big Sky. She is currently a celebrity coach on NBC’s singing competition show The Voice and will appear alongside John Legend, Dan + Shay and Chance the Rapper in the upcoming 25th season.
The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will face off in Super Bowl LVIII, airing on CBS on Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
