RCMP arrest man after body found outside New Minas home

RCMP charge man with 2nd-degree murder after New Minas death

RCMP are investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered outside a home in New Minas, N.S., on Sunday morning.

Police said they were called to the Lockhart Drive home at 9:25 a.m.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death, which police are calling suspicious. No charges have been laid.

"Police have up until 24 hours to bring someone before the courts if they have been arrested for an offence. So within the next day or so we should have more information on that," said Cpl. Jennifer Clarke.

The investigation is ongoing. Members of the RCMP's forensic identification team arrived at the scene around 3 p.m.

Police are not releasing the victim's name or age.

"The investigators are asking me not to do that at this point so I've got to go with their call on it," Clarke said.
