Cryptocurrency Ether pulled back sharply from a record high and rival Bitcoin also fell on Friday amid speculation that U.S. President Joe Biden's plan to raise capital gains taxes will curb investment in digital assets. The drops came after Biden on Thursday unveiled a raft of proposed changes to the U.S. tax code, including a plan to nearly double taxes on capital gains to 39.6% for people earning more than $1 million. But while social media lit up with posts about the plan hurting cryptocurrencies, and individual investors complaining about losses, traders and analysts said declines are likely temporary amid growing retail and institutional investor acceptance of digital currencies as a legitimate asset class.
Japanese mega-bank Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group has cut six members of its U.S. team, four in sell-side markets research, sales and trading, and two investment-banking advisors, according to a source familiar with the matter. The job reductions were made in the last week, the source said, as the bank expands its fixed-income trading and debt capital markets businesses, for which has been hiring since mid-2020. With assets worth roughly $3.1 trillion, MUFG is hoping to use its sizeable balance sheet to venture further into primary and secondary fixed-income markets, the source said.

WASHINGTON — This week's climate change summit features lots of talk from different nations about their goals for reducing carbon emissions. But in the weird world of national climate pledges, numbers often aren’t quite what they seem. Sometimes a 55% reduction is about equal to 50% to 52%. Sometimes it’s even less. Sometimes it’s way more. As part of the Paris climate agreement process, each nation picks its own national goals for how much greenhouse gas should be cut by 2030 and — crucially — what baseline year it starts counting from for those cuts. That makes it difficult to compare countries’ emissions-cutting pledges to see who is promising more. US AND EU GOALS Both the United States and the European Union are offering similar-sounding pledges of cutting around half their emissions by 2030. But depending on what year you start from, each can sound significantly deeper than the other. The European Union goal, newly approved by the union’s parliament, is 55% below 1990 levels. The new U.S. goal announced Thursday by President Joe Biden is 50% to 52% below 2005 levels. If you convert the European goal to the American-preferred 2005 baseline, the two are the same. The European Union goal translates to 51% below 2005 levels, which is on par with the U.S. goal, said former Obama White House environmental aide Kate Larsen, a director at the private research Rhodium Group. But if you compare them using Europe's preferred 1990 as the baseline, the 50% minimum U.S. cut is only 41%, far shy of the 55% EU goal, according to Larsen’s calculations. If you compare the numbers to 2019, the last pre-pandemic year, the U.S. goal looks more ambitious than Europe's. The minimum the United States would be cutting is about 40% from today’s level and the EU only 35%, said Niklas Hohne, a climate scientist who helps run the Climate Action Tracker, which monitors world emission pledges. WHY DIFFERENT BASELINES? The idea behind different baselines goes back to a logjam that bogged down climate talks in 2009. Developed countries that already spewed lots of carbon pollution wanted poorer nations that were counting on fossil fuels for economic development to forgo the dirtier fuels, said John Podesta, who was then-President Barack Obama’s climate czar. So a solution was struck for the 2015 Paris agreement that allowed nations to voluntarily choose their own goals tailored to each country. Those nationally designed goals also included countries choosing their own baseline years. So countries tend to choose years in which they peaked or near peaked on carbon emissions. For example, Europe, which took early action after the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, chose to keep that treaty’s 1990 baseline because it factored in early cuts. This way, Europe gets credit for acting early. DOES IT MATTER? Many developed nations' goals pretty much even out, said Nigel Purvis, who was a U.S. State Department climate negotiator for the George W. Bush and Bill Clinton administrations. “At 50%, they’re all doing a lot,” Purvis said. “The baselines are becoming less important.” HIGHER GOALS Some nations are shooting higher. University of Maryland global sustainability professor Nate Hultman pointed to Denmark, which he said did the math to see how much emissions cutting was feasible for the future and found it to be 65% below 1990 levels. Denmark then purposely set a tougher goal, 70%, counting on unforeseen changes in technology that often happen. Climate Action Tracker’s Hohne said that despite the White House’s claims, the U.S. target is not enough to keep warming to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius since pre-industrial times, the tougher Paris agreement target. The entire world must cut its emissions in half compared to 2019, Hohne said. But Biden's new U.S. target only translates to about 40% from 2019 levels. “If you take that comparison, then it doesn’t work,’’ Hohne told The Associated Press on Thursday. NOT JUST CARBON DIOXIDE Like other nations, the U.S. goal includes methane and hydrofluorocarbon gases that trap more heat but don’t last as long as carbon dioxide. Including those in the goals allows the United States to pick low-hanging fruit to better reach its goal, Larsen said. Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized how slashing methane pollution quickly can get the world nearly halfway to its 1.5 degree Celsius goal. Reducing methane and HFCs gets results more quickly than cutting carbon dioxide, so cutting them “can buy us a lot of time,” Larsen said. HOW TO REACH US GOAL Most of the U.S. emissions reductions — about 70% — will likely come from the power sector, Hultman said. Switching to greener electricity would more quickly reduce overall emissions because people keep their cars for almost a dozen years. Seth Borenstein, The Associated Press

Most people don't lose weight no matter how many diets they tried. Others keep regaining it to the point that they lost their will to achieve their ideal weight. These are entirely possible thanks to the CarboFix weight loss supplement. CarboFix is one of the most-sought weight loss supplements nowadays because of its potent formula that has already been proven to turn on that "switch" that makes a person lose weight even without dieting and exercising. A person can still lose weight even if he stuffs himself with foods rich in carbohydrates sounds too good to be true. The great thing is, it's true. Most people who have difficulty losing weight haven't activated their fat-burning metabolism yet. This fat-burning metabolism is called the AMPK, a fuel-sensing enzyme that, when activated, helps a person burns his stored fat. Each CarboFix capsule is loaded with ingredients that can help individuals activate their AMPk. If you are one of the millions of people who haven't found an effective way to solve their weight loss problem, continue reading this CarboFix review. << BUY NOW: From Official Website >> What is CarboFix Weight Loss Supplement? CarboFix is a weight loss supplement consisting of a 6-ingredient blend that helps activate AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a fat-burning metabolism that is usually deactivated, the reason why so many people have difficulty losing weight. This product is named CarboFix because it "fixes" the way a person's body process carbs. Instead of instantly storing carbs as fat, daily usage of CarboFix can help an individual effectively use the carbs he eats as energy. Matt Stirling, the man behind CarboFix, claimed that the product effectively reduces belly fat, controlling weight gain and curbing hunger and cravings. He shared on CarboFix's official website that his trip to Ecuador is the turning point of the creation of CarboFix. He discovered the secret why most people in the village of his wife's family are all fit, healthy, and live longer. The secret has to do with the herbs and plants the villagers have been consuming for centuries. Matt uses these herbs and plants as the main ingredients of CarboFix. CarboFix Top Six Potent Ingredients As an all-natural weight loss supplement, CarboFix is proven effective because its formula is jam-packed with these potent ingredients famous for their weight loss properties. 1. Berberine This natural chemical is primarily found in plants such as tree turmeric, Oregon grape, and goldthread. It mainly helps in reducing body weight. It also improves glucose tolerance even the person doesn't go on a diet. Aside from the fact that it helps activate AMPK, Berberine is also good in managing blood sugar levels, the reason it's popular among people who have diabetes. Because of its natural weight loss effects, Berberine also slows down the breakdown of carbohydrates in the gut, minimizes sugar production in the liver, and reduces total cholesterol. Studies have also suggested that it can help treat inflammation and good prevention against heart diseases. 2. Cinnamon Bark Cinnamon Bark is a good regulator of the AMPK enzyme. It has properties that prevent cells from being filled with fat, which results in the reduction of weight gain. Its potency in reducing the harmful effects of high-fat foods makes it popular among dieters. It is also reported that Cinnamon Bark contains a chemical that helps lower blood sugar levels. It also reduces the build-up of white fat in the body. 3. Alpha Lipoic Acid Alpha Lipoic Acid is an antioxidant commonly found in spinach, potatoes, kidney, liver, and broccoli. It is a naturally occurring compound that helps enzymes turn nutrients into energy. Because Alpha Lipoic Acid or ALA activates AMPK in skeletal muscle, it helps increase insulin sensitivity, reduce body weight, and boost a person's fat-burning capabilities. 4. Chromium This essential mineral is proven to increase the amount of AMPK in skeletal muscles. Its effectiveness in helping curb hunger and food cravings is already established through a study. Chromium positively impacts glucose metabolism in skeletal and heart muscles and helps lower blood sugar levels. Its powerful anti-hunger effects make it one of the essential ingredients in CarboFix. 5. Benfotiamine This B vitamin is primarily found in nuts, legumes, fish, pasta, seeds, and wheat. It mainly helps in reducing pain, inflammation levels, and cellular damage. When a person's body is not inflamed, its fat-burning capability won't be interrupted. Benfotiamine is also taken by people who have diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, and alcoholism. 6. Naringin This flavonoid is commonly found in the skin of grapefruits and oranges. It is known for its potent anti-inflammatory effects. It's also an antioxidant that helps boost the body's immune system. Because it helps activate AMPK, Naringin brings excellent results to people who want to lose weight without watching their diet. It is beneficial for people suffering from obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. These six ingredients make CarboFix an effective weight loss supplement that allows people to continue enjoying the foods they love without the fear of gaining weight. How CarboFix Helps You Lose Weight? Each capsule of the CarboFix supplement is filled with ingredients that activate the body's fat-burning metabolism (AMPK). It is unique compared to other weight loss supplements because it can make a person lose weight even if he continues eating carbohydrate-laden foods. << BUY NOW: From Official Website >> The CarboFix weight loss formula works on three unique levels: Level 1: By turning the body's fat-burning metabolism (AMPK) Taking CarboFix every day helps the body activate AMPK. This determines the body's fat composition and how long a person lives. The Berberine in CarboFix, when combined with other compounds and plant extracts, increases the body's fat-burning capability and decreases fat storage. Level 2: By curbing hunger and food cravings One of the most challenging parts when trying to lose weight is the hunger and food cravings. With CarboFix, it would be easier to lose weight as it curbs an intense appetite and desire for fatty foods. When a person takes CarboFix daily, he doesn't need to rely on willpower to keep himself from overeating. The body is naturally burning more fat for energy. Level 3: By blocking carbs from being stored as fat Another factor that makes CarboFix unique from other weight loss supplements and where most diets fail is its properties that block carbohydrates from being stored as fat. This enables people to eat any foods they want without feeling guilty about gaining weight. The Chromium in CarboFix makes it possible to prevent carbohydrates from being stored as fat. It helps the body metabolize carbs, improves blood sugar levels, reduces cholesterol, increases brain health, improves skin, and protects bone health. Also, you can tell that the CarboFix product you are buying is legit and not a scam if it comes with three free bonuses. The first bonus is an eBook - "10-Day Rapid Fat Loss Diet". The second one is another eBook – "24-Hour Fix", and the third one is a smoothie recipe (50 Fat-Blasting Red Smoothies) eBook. If the price of the CarboFix you are about to buy is too low or too expensive, this is a red flag that the product might be a scam. CarboFix has very competitive pricing; thus, customers should be vigilant if they come across a CarboFix product that is too cheap or too expensive. CarboFix proves that it is the ultimate weight loss solution for people who can't lose any because of their slow metabolism. The secret to losing weight has been revealed. China is set to resume cargo train service with North Korea, people familiar with the matter said, following a 15-month border closure due to COVID-19, as trade with the impoverished and isolated country begins to rebound. The bridge linking the city of Dandong with Sinuiju, across the Yalu River in North Korea, will partially reopen to allow cargo train service "sometime before or after May 1", the head of a transportation company handling cross-border trade told Reuters on Wednesday. No date is set for resumption of passenger traffic, the person said, as North Korea remains fearful of COVID-19.

WASHINGTON — On one side of an upcoming Supreme Court case over a proposed natural gas pipeline in New Jersey are two lawyers with more than 250 arguments between them. On the other is Jeremy Feigenbaum, a lawyer for New Jersey who will be making his first Supreme Court appearance. It may be the greatest numerical mismatch in the history of the high court — a David argues with Goliaths story (although this David comes with millions of dollars a year in earnings potential). Justice Department lawyer Edwin Kneedler will be making his 148th argument. Kneedler, 75, had around 30 Supreme Court arguments under his belt by the time Feigenbaum, 32, was born. Paul Clement, 54, the former top Supreme Court lawyer for the Bush administration, will be arguing his 106th case. They are asking the Supreme Court to rule that private gas companies' use of the federal government's power of eminent domain to acquire property extends to parcels owned by a state. Feigenbaum, a native of New Jersey and the State Solicitor, persuaded a three-judge appellate panel to rule that states could not be compelled to give up their land. At issue is a roughly 120-mile pipeline that would run from northeastern Pennsylvania to central New Jersey. Although it's his first time arguing, Feigenbaum is familiar to the court. He worked for a year as a law clerk to Justice Elena Kagan in 2015-16. Co-workers from that year described him as an outstanding lawyer whose age belies his legal wisdom. “Jeremy has sort of risen as quickly as one possibly can in the legal bar. You can't work with Jeremy and not recognize that he is exceptionally talented. ... He's one of the most creative and persuasive advocates I know, both in writing and orally. I think that's how he became one of the youngest state solicitors in the country,” said Yaira Dubin, a former Kagan law clerk who first met Feigenbaum at Harvard Law School. Thomas Fu shared an office with Feigenbaum at the Supreme Court, where they talked about high court cases virtually nonstop for a year. “I think Jeremy will be right up with them in terms of quality,” Fu said. Clement filed the Supreme Court appeal that the justices are hearing, via telephone because of the coronavirus pandemic. He and Feigenbaum overlapped briefly at the Kirkland and Ellis law firm. “Jeremy is a terrific lawyer, and I was happy to play a small part in getting him his first Supreme Court argument,” Clement said in an email. ___ On rare occasions, determining who will argue a case can come down to flipping a coin, or fishing a name out of a bowl. That's how the court's clerk resolved an impasse over who would represent the position of 17 Native American tribes Monday in a case about coronavirus relief money. Sixteen tribes were being represented by lawyer Riyaz Kanji, a former Supreme Court law clerk who last year won a major Indian Country case before the court. The other choice was Jeffrey S. Rasmussen, who represents the Ute Indian Tribe and would be making his first argument. Each side wanted its lawyer to argue. Rasmussen asked that each group get equal time. The court's answer: no. Last Friday, the court gave the parties two final hours to work things out themselves. They failed. So with less than three days until argument, the court's clerk got the parties on the phone. He told them he would put the name of each tribe on a slip of paper, put the slips in a bowl and pull one out. The lawyer that represented that tribe would argue. Against the odds, the tribe's name on the paper that got pulled: the Ute. Rasmussen got his first argument. Details were confirmed by participants in the process. Indianz.com first reported on the disagreement over who would argue. But in another case being argued this month, a lawyer willingly passed up his first chance to step to the virtual lectern and address the justices. American Civil Liberties Union lawyer Witold J. Walczak had been scheduled to make his first Supreme Court argument next Wednesday on behalf of a high school student who was suspended from cheerleading activities for a profane Instagram post she made outside of school. After some reflection, Walczak stepped aside in favour of David Cole, the ACLU national legal director who has argued several cases. “I’m a trial lawyer with some successful circuit work. This case is too important to risk a novice Supreme Court oralist,” Walczak said in an email. “After I overcame my ego, it was an easy decision.“ ___ Seven cases remain to be argued in April and May, but could the justices be suffering from remote argument fatigue? After spending more than two and a half hours on the phone Wednesday hearing two cases, Chief Justice John Roberts was ready to hang up. “Thank you counsel. The case is submitted,” Roberts said, using the words he does to end every case. Trouble was, Roberts had forgotten to give one of the lawyers arguing in a patent case the customary opportunity to say a last few words. It wasn’t the only time this week that the justices seemed ready to wrap things up early. The court has spent more than a year hearing arguments by phone because of the pandemic. During arguments Tuesday, the three most junior justices at one point passed on their opportunities to ask questions. “I have no questions at this time,” Justice Neil Gorsuch said. “No additional questions,” Justice Brett Kavanaugh said. “None from me either,” concluded Justice Amy Coney Barrett. That meant arguments in that case lasted just 48 minutes, well below the allotted hour. The following day, Roberts quickly corrected his mistake. “Oh. No? What? Oh, I’m sorry, Mr. Hochman, you have rebuttal. ... Excuse me,” he said, giving lawyer Robert Hochman the chance to wrap up. “Thank you, counsel,” Roberts said when Hochman was done. “Now the case is submitted.” Mark Sherman And Jessica Gresko, The Associated Press
WASHINGTON — A Pentagon panel is recommending that decisions to prosecute service members for sexual assault be made by independent authorities, not commanders, in what would be a major reversal of military practice and a change long sought by Congress members, The Associated Press has learned. The recommendation by an independent review commission created by Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin goes against decades of vehement Pentagon arguments to keep cases within the chain of command. It was among a number of initial recommendations delivered to Austin on Thursday, according to two senior defence officials. Austin expects to seek input from military service leaders before making any final decision, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal reports not yet made public. But combating sexual assault in the military is a top priority for Austin, and the fact that this recommendation was made so directly and quickly suggests it will carry a lot of weight. The proposed changes outlined in the report represent Austin's effort to leave his mark on a problem that has long plagued the department, triggered widespread congressional condemnation and frustrated military leaders struggling to find prevention, treatment and prosecution efforts that work. The review panel said that for certain special victims crimes, designated independent judge advocates reporting to a civilian-led office of the Chief Special Victim Prosecutor should decide two key legal questions: whether to charge someone and, ultimately, if that charge should go to a court martial, the officials said. The crimes would include sexual assault, sexual harassment and, potentially, certain hate crimes. According to the officials, that recommendation would affect a small fraction of the wide range of military discipline cases that commanders regularly handle. The panel also is recommending that sexual harassment claims be investigated outside the chain of command, and that if a charge is substantiated, the military should immediately begin the process of discharging that person from the force while other legal proceedings continue. The officials said a driving part of the panel's deliberations was the belief that many service members have lost faith in the system and that these changes would help restore that faith. Eventually, they said, it could lead to increased reporting by victims of sexual assaults. The changes would require an increase in funding and personnel, but it is not yet clear how much. Removing legal decisions from the chain of command, however, won't eliminate the role of a commander in addressing sexual misconduct, the officials said. Unit leaders will still be responsible to setting a proper command climate and still must play a role in preventing and addressing sexual assault, harassment and other problems with their service members. Reports of sexual assaults have steadily gone up since 2006, according to department reports, including a 13% jump in 2018 and a 3% increase in 2019. The 2020 data is not yet available. There have been a number of changes in the Military Code of Justice over the last decade to add more civilian oversight to the military's prosecution of sexual assault cases and to beef up assistance for victims. But, lawmakers, such as Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, have long demanded a more concrete shift, arguing that commanding officers should be stripped of the authority to decide whether serious crimes go to trial. Those commanders, Gillibrand and other argue, are often reluctant to pursue charges against their troops, and overrule recommendations for courts martial or reduce the charges. And they say that victims consistently say they are reluctant to file complaints because they don't believe they'll get support from their chain of command since often their attacker is a senior military member. Military leaders have persistently fought such a change, saying it would erode the chain of command. Taking that authority away, senior military officials have said, will hurt unit cohesion. “I am tired of the statement I get over and over from the chain of command: ‘We got this, madam, we got this.’ You don’t have it!” Gillibrand, a New York Democrat, shouted during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing in May 2019. “You’re failing us.” Austin, in his first directive after taking office in January, gave senior leaders two weeks to send him reports on sexual assault prevention programs, and an assessment of what has worked and what hasn’t. In February he announced the commission's creation. The panel launched its work in March, and at the time its chairwoman, Lynn Rosenthal, vowed to seek major shifts that could change the culture, improve care for victims and hold offenders accountable. The officials said other initial recommendations sent to Austin seek to professionalize the workforce involved in the cases, calling for a military justice career track for prosecutors, judges, investigators and victims' advocates. They also recommended improvements in allowing victims to get protective orders, and said there should be a set timeline for the justice process. The officials said they expect Austin to give service leaders about a month to review the recommendations and come back to him with their response. Every two years, the Defence Department conducts an anonymous survey that is released along with the annual report on sexual assaults. The most recent survey, done in 2018, found that more than 20,000 service members said they experienced some type of sexual assault, but only a third of those filed a formal report. The survey number was about 37% higher than the previous one two years earlier, and it fueled frustration within the department and outrage on Capitol Hill. This year there has been more momentum for change to sexual assault prosecutions, with a number of senior congressional leaders sounding open to adjustments in the process. Lolita C. How Does Amino H2O Work? Every weight loss supplement claims to boost energy and weight loss performance using natural ingredients. What makes Amino H2O different from other weight loss formulas? Why is it superior to an average amino or BCAA supplement? The bulk of Amino H2O’s formula consists of four amino acids, including L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-valine, and L-glutamine. Leucine, isoleucine, and valine are branched chain amino acids (BCAAs). They’re three essential amino acids that typically come together in an amino acid supplement. Amino H2O, for example, uses a 2:1:1 concentration of the three amino acids. Many people take amino acid or BCAA supplements daily to boost muscle growth. Your body uses amino acids to create protein, and protein is the building block of muscle. Amino acids are precursors to protein within your body. Your body needs amino acids to build protein. Your body also needs amino acids for other crucial functions. In addition to helping with muscle growth, Amino H2O and other BCAA supplements help with exercise performance. They can increase your endurance, for example, helping you work out for a longer period of time. Some BCAA supplements also help with weight loss, enhancing the post-workout fat burning effects. They could help you push yourself further during a workout, leading to more weight loss and calorie burning. Amino H2O by Yoga Burn contains a blend of amino acids to help you achieve your weight loss goals, including three BCAAs and L-glutamine. What Does Amino H2O Do? Zoe Bray-Cotton and the Yoga Burn team claim you can take Amino H2O “each and every day and at any time of the day” to enjoy results. However, they specifically recommend taking the supplement before, during, and after your workouts for the best results – similar to how you would take any BCAA supplement. Individual results vary. However, Amino H2O is marketed as a way to complement weight loss results, enhance fat burning, boost post-workout muscle recovery, and enjoy other benefits. Some of the promoted benefits on the official Yoga Burn Amino H2O product page include: Crush hunger cravingsImprove fat lossImprove lean muscleImprove strength and recoveryAvoid bloating or eating extra calories Enjoy a pure, steady, and reliable stream of all-day energy without a crash or jitters Amino H2O packages all of these benefits into a “refreshing and delicious formula.” The formula uses sucralose and natural flavors to add sweetness and flavor to the blend. Just mix it with water, then drink it daily to get the advertised benefits. Zoe Bray-Cotton is confident the formula works on anyone: “I’m talking about what I consider to be the most perfect and complete complement to your healthy lifestyle and your fitness routine that can help deliver you the results you desire faster, easier, and more enjoyably than you have ever thought possible.” Because of all of these benefits, Zoe Bray-Cotton recommends the supplement to anyone following the Yoga Burn program, including the Yoga Burn Total Body Challenge. How Do BCAAs Work? Branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) consist of three essential amino acids, including leucine, isoleucine, and valine. Amino H2O has these three BCAAs in a 2:1:1 concentration. These three amino acids are called branched chain amino acids because they’re the only three amino acids with a chain branching to one side. Because of this chain, BCAAs play a crucial role in muscle formation. They make up a large portion of the amino acids in your body. Leucine, isoleucine, and valine are considered essential amino acids. An essential amino acid is an amino acid that your body cannot produce on its own. You need to get them from your diet. Your body uses BCAAs as the building blocks for protein and muscle. That’s why many bodybuilders – or anyone who exercises regularly – take BCAA supplements before, during, or after a workout. Some studies show that BCAAs also play a role in regulating blood sugar, fatigue, energy production, and more. Here’s how Zoe Bray-Cotton explains the benefits of Amino H2O on the official website: “Amino H2O was designed exclusively for active women like us. And, it’s the perfect solution for helping to protect, preserve, and improve our lean muscle, strength, and curves while also helping to increase fat burning, energy, endurance, recovery, hydration, and mental focus.” Overall, BCAAs are crucial for overall health and wellness, and they’re particularly important if you are exercising regularly. How Do Electrolytes Work? Amino H2O doesn’t just contain BCAAs: it also contains electrolytes, including magnesium, sodium, and potassium. Electrolytes are the minerals found in certain energy drinks, sports drinks, and nutritional supplements. They’re crucial for hydration. Your body needs electrolytes to function. If your blood has low levels of electrolytes, then drinking water alone will not hydrate you. You sweat out electrolytes during physical activity. As you work out, you lose electrolytes. This can leave you feeling fatigued. It can make your muscles feel sore. It can delay recovery. That’s why many athletes take electrolyte supplements or sports drinks. They contain the electrolytes your body needs to recover from a workout. Amino H2O contains potassium, sodium, and magnesium (between 3% and 4% of your daily recommended value), which are the three best-known electrolytes in sports drinks today. These electrolytes can replenish your body’s natural stores. In combination with the BCAAs in Amino H2O, they could energize you, hydrate you, and ensure you maximize the effectiveness of your workout. Your body needs these ingredients, and many people take BCAA supplements daily for that reason. Overall, Amino H2O contains similar ingredients to any BCAA or amino acid supplement, making it easy to evaluate the science behind it. In this 2011 study, researchers found a connection between branched chain amino acid (BCAA) intake and weight loss. Researchers found that people who took high levels of BCAAs per day had lower incidents of being overweight or obese. To come to that conclusion, researchers analyzed 4,429 men and women between ages 40 and 59. People who had high daily intake of BCAA tended to be in better shape than people who had low daily BCAA intake. Other studies have validated the weight loss effects of BCAAs. In this 2018 study, researchers gave 6g of BCAAs or a placebo to women every day, then asked them to follow a reduced calorie diet. Women maintained a caloric deficit of 500 calories per day over a four week period. At the end of the study, researchers found that BCAAs did not significantly affect weight loss. However, researchers found improvements in body composition in the BCAA group, including waist to hip ratio and lean legs, among other benefits. Multiple studies have validated the use of BCAA supplements for weight loss, energy, and post-workout recovery. In this 2018 study, researchers found that BCAA supplementation helped reduce muscle soreness after exercise, helped with recovery, and improved exercise performance, among other benefits. Amino H2O doesn’t just contain BCAAs: it also contains an amino acid called glutamine. L-glutamine is the most abundant and versatile amino acid in the body. It’s crucial for immune function, circulation, metabolism, and more. Some studies show that taking a glutamine supplement can help with everything from muscle building to immune system efficiency to metabolism and weight loss. Amino H2O also contains electrolytes. People with electrolyte imbalance could develop metabolic disorders when they don’t address this electrolyte imbalance over time. Having too many electrolytes or too few electrolytes can even send you to the emergency room. As Stanford Medicine explains, electrolyte supplements don’t prevent illness in athletes, nor do they provide 100% protection from hot temperatures. However, they can support performance in various ways. Overall, Amino H2O contains ingredients similar to any amino acid or BCAA supplement, but in natural and potent form. The formula contains ingredients that could support weight loss, energy, and post-workout recovery, among other benefits.
