I can almost guarantee that most of you reading this Amazon primed a chess board after binge-watching Netflix's The Queen's Gambit late last year.

If you didn't, I can 99.9% guarantee that you will be doing that tonight after adding it to your watch list today.

The show stars actress Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays Beth Harmon - an orphaned chess prodigy with an addiction problem.

Anya's look in the series is very distinct, what with her bright red hair styled in a short '50s manner.

It's easy to forget that actors change their looks depending on the characters they are playing, which is why I had to do a double take when I spotted Anya at last night's 2021 Golden Globe Awards.

Wearing a green metallic dress, Anya looked every inch the Hollywood icon with her long blonde platinum hair side parted in the classic old school glamour style.

Hair stylist Gregory Russell is the man responsible for Anya's divine look and we love how he put on a modern twist on the classic Rita Hayworth hair.

Georgie Eisdell was the makeup artist responsible for her beautiful neutral smokey eye which we'll be recreating immediately for our next Zoom call.

Whilst I never did put that chess board to good use, I'm definitely going to be investing in a ghd Max in order to attempt to recreate a bit of Tinsel Town in Croydon.

Wish me luck.
