Queen Elizabeth II Reportedly Said the Cutest Thing to Archie Over Zoom

Queen Elizabeth and her youngest great-grandchild, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, may live an ocean apart now that his parents, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, have relocated to Los Angeles, but that doesn’t mean they're not keeping in touch. On Zoom, of course.

During a reported call to celebrate her birthday (which was April 21), the queen made a sweet remark about one of Archie’s signature traits. Per royals reporter Katie Nicholl in an article for The Times of London, Queen Elizabeth remarked that the one-year-old had inherited his father’s red hair. Archie and Prince Harry are basically twins, if you look back at old baby photos. (Below, see Prince Harry on the left and Archie on the right.)

Nicholl also gave some other new details about Archie’s life in L.A. “Archie is a happy and sweet baby, full of love and joy, and it’s contagious,” she said. “He is active and pulling himself up on everything with a great determination to walk.”

It sounds as though things are going as well as can be expected for the Sussex family during their time in quarantine. Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly “just enjoying watching Archie experience so many milestones” and “have spent a lot of time together as a family during the lockdown, and it’s been a magical time.”

May has brought many happy moments for Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and baby Archie. The couple threw a low-key party for their son’s first birthday on May 6, with Mom baking a cake and Dad setting up the decorations. Then, Markle and Prince Harry reportedly celebrated their second wedding anniversary on May 19 with margaritas, Mexican food, and very sweet gifts. “Meghan designed Harry’s card, and hand-wrote a beautiful, sentimental message inside expressing her love for him,” a source told Us Weekly. “Harry surprised Meghan with a huge, stunning bouquet of roses and a ring, which she loves.”
