The Pursuit of Love actress Lily James has pondered the possibility of making season 2.

The BBC's romantic drama is based on the first book in a trilogy by Nancy Mitford. Love in a Cold Climate is the second novel in the series, and Don't Tell Alfred finishes off the story.

So, could there be a second season on the way?

"You've got to keep going," James recently told Digital Spy and other media. "You can't leave Fanny there. It would be a crime. I think you fall so in love with her and you leave her at this point where you just have to know what happens next.

"But I suppose it will depend on how this is received and how much people enjoy it."

In The Pursuit of Love, the Mamma Mia star portrays Linda Radlett opposite Emily Beecham's Fanny Logan, Dominic West's Uncle Matthew and Andrew Scott's Lord Merlin.

James previously revealed why the show is different to anything she's done before.

"It's the first time I've been involved in something since its genesis, and I adored it," she explained. "I just feel so connected to it.

"I came on board early doors because my agent had the rights to the book and had always talked about making The Pursuit of Love happen and it become a reality.

"I've been involved as a producer throughout, and particularly in the pre-stage and then in this stage, after we shot it, had been involved in conversations and the edit and that's been a gift, to be heard and listened and be involved in that creative side of it.

"It has been an enlightening experience and something I want to continue."

The Pursuit of Love airs on Sundays at 9pm on BBC One. Viewers in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will be able to watch via Amazon Prime Video.
