Danone sees China as key growth driver, CFO says
Danone said on Thursday that China will remain a key growth driver for the world's largest yoghurt maker, as medical nutrition and beverages categories remain robust. In 2022, demand for Danone's Chinese vitamin drink brand Mizone was hit by the country's no-COVID policy, but the company turned this around in 2023, making China its "number one driver", Chief Financial Officer Juergen Esser said. "We're going to continue growing fast in China," Esser told Reuters in an interview.

Snap-On missed Wall Street estimates for first-quarter sales on Thursday, as vehicle service and repair technicians bought fewer tools and equipment made by the company, offsetting steady demand for its products from auto dealerships. Higher tool prices are causing U.S. repair technicians to cut back on spending, denting demand for Snap-On's smaller wrenches and ratchets. Sales at the company's "Commercial & Industrial" division, which caters to critical industries such as transportation, military, aerospace and power generation, fell to $359.9 million in the quarter from $363.8 million last year due to weak demand for power tools.

This total cutie pie is a baby bat-eared fox who was born on 5 April 2024 at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. He is doing well in the care of the Zoo’s neonate specialists and animal care staff. The baby bat, known as a kit, is a little squeaker, according to staff at the zoo! “The kit, a boy, is progressing well with bottle feeding. He sleeps a lot, which is normal, and makes adorable vocalisations when it’s feeding time,”said Cincinnati Zoo’s Animal Ambassador Team head keeper Samantha Villa. “His eyes are already open, and he is curious about his surroundings,” adds Senior Trainer at the Cat Ambassador Program, Andie Haugen. In addition to meeting the kit’s nutritional needs, the team is spending time socialising him and making sure that he is comfortable with people. He will eventually become an ambassador animal, and visitors will see him in the zoo’s Cheetah Encounter and at some events. Bat-eared foxes have giant ears and exceptional hearing that helps them locate insects to eat. They also have more teeth than most mammals, making it easier to consume live prey and are native to southern Africa.
