Proposal and 'Gretchen Grinch' Appear at Michigan Christmas-Themed Anti-Lockdown Protest

A dancing ‘grinch’ wearing a picture of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer appeared at a Christmas-themed anti-COVID-19-lockdown rally in Lansing on December 23.

The protesters rallied against the state’s COVID-19 restrictions that ban indoor dining and in-person classes among other things, according to reports.

Among the demonstrations was a marriage proposal on the steps of the State Capitol building.

There were 3,443 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the state on December 23 and 70 more people had died from the virus, according to Michigan health officials. Credit: Brendan Gutenschwager via Storyful
