Pro-Palestinian Protesters Push Barricades at Manhattan Demonstration

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators took to the streets of midtown Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon, May 18, gathering near the Consulate General of Israel.

Footage shared on Twitter shows demonstrators moving metal barricades outside the consulate building on Second Avenue between 42nd and 43rd streets.

A similar demonstration took place in Washington as well as in Dearborn, Michigan, where President Biden visited the Ford Motor Co Rouge Electric Vehicle Center on Tuesday morning.

Protests followed conversations between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the president, in which Biden reiterated his "firm support for Israel’s right to defend itself against indiscriminate rocket attacks.” Credit: @GreatAli5 via Storyful
