Feeling festive? You will be after seeing these photos of our future king and queen consort! Last night, Prince William and his wife of ten years, Kate Middleton, stepped out together to enjoy a Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey (where they were married a decade ago) – and the couple looked so loved up it was like a scene from a Christmas movie. Honestly, they're giving us major Love Actually vibes and it's warming our cold and frosty hearts.

Looking seasonal in a red dress by Catherine Walker, Kate accompanied William to the iconic London venue to meet a crowd of extraordinary people and listen to some music as part of a special event which will be screened on ITV this Christmas Eve, Together At Christmas.

A post to their Instagram account (@DukeAndDuchessOfCambridge) described the evening as being "special" and "inspirational", with a caption for a series of images reading: "What a special evening, seeing so many familiar faces, as well as meeting inspirational people who have gone the extra mile for their community in recent times. Across the country, these organisations and unsung heroes have pulled together and through acts of kindness helped others in the face of extraordinary challenges."

It's clear that whilst the couple were there in a work capacity, it was also a very happy evening for them both and the pictures snapped of the parents-of-three truly do speak for themselves.

Kate clearly looked ultra happy and relaxed when she and William posed for pictures after stepping out of a car together outside the venue, and even more so when the Duke made a rare display of public affection towards his wife and lovingly put his arm around her as they headed towards the Abbey:

They also took a moment to stop and pet a reindeer, as you do (again, hello is this not 100% the plot of a festive film that you would watch on repeat? Prince meets non-noblewoman and falls in love as a crowd of kids sing Hark! The Herald Angels Sing?):

As for how the Cambridges will be spending Christmas this year, whilst nothing is confirmed as yet, it is of course likely to be an emotional time for the Queen, given that it is her first without her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, by her side. Royal expert Danielle Stacey believes that for this reason, Prince William and Kate Middleton will probably spend the holiday period close to her, rather than with Kate's family.

"The Duchess knows that the festive period is a key time for the royals, and particularly with the Queen's health in recent months and the loss of the Duke of Edinburgh this year, she will be among those to rally around Her Majesty," Stacey explained.

"The Duchess will also be aware that as the mother of a future King – Prince George – she will need to prepare her children for their duties, particularly around the festive period."
