Sport will pay its respects to the Duke of Edinburgh by moving fixtures and halting play while his funeral is taking place on Saturday.

The Football League have moved all 32 of their 3pm BST fixtures to avoid clashing with the funeral, while the only 3pm kick-off in the Premier League - Wolves vs Sheffield United - has been rescheduled for 8:15pm.

Blackburn's game against Derby and Reading's fixture with Cardiff will kick off at 6pm on Friday, while Norwich will face Bournemouth at Carrow Road at 8pm on Saturday.

Rotherham vs Birmingham will kick off at noon on Sunday, with Coventry facing Barnsley at 3pm. The remaining Championship fixtures will kick off at 12:30pm on Saturday.

Nine League One fixtures will kick off at 12:30pm on Saturday, with two starting at 5:30pm. 10 of the 12 matches in League Two will kick off at 12:30pm on Saturday, with Colchester taking on Walsall at 5:30pm.

Cricket’s County Championship will pause for more than an hour and the British Horseracing Authority have agreed that no racing will take place between 2:45pm and 4:15pm.

Racing authorities have also delayed the Scottish Grand National by 24 hours. No racing is due to take place in Britain between 2.45pm and 4.15pm on Saturday. Meetings at Bangor, Thirsk, Brighton and Nottingham will go ahead but with different start times to ensure races do not clash with the ceremony.

Premiership Rugby fixtures have been rearranged to avoid a clash, with Harlequins’ home match against Worcester now kicking off at 5pm.

Nine county cricket matches will be paused between 2:50pm and 4:10pm, with the national silence at 3pm observed across all grounds.

The ECB have also asked all recreational clubs to pause play in their matches between 3pm and 4pm.

The FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Manchester City at Wembley is expected to go ahead as planned at 5:30pm.

In Formula 1, qualifying for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix at Imola has been brought forward to 1pm.
