Prince Harry and Meghan’s next outing with the Queen revealed

Newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a growing roster of royal outings planned leading up to their first official royal tour Down Under! On the heels of the Duchess of Sussex’s first solo outing with the Queen, she’ll be stepping out with her grandmother-in-law once again for a special Queen’s Young Leaders reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday (June 26). And this time the 36-year-old will have her husband by her side.

Over the years, the monarchy has worked tirelessly to make the Royal Family more accessible to young people, through initiatives like Head’s Together – a mental health awareness program spearheaded by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and now his wife Meghan, too. So, it’s no surprise that Her Majesty has made every effort to acknowledge the strength of young people of the Commonwealth with her Queen’s Young Leaders program – a network of 240 award winners from 53 Commonwealth countries, acknowledged for their service. As a woman who became the Monarch at the young age of 26, Her Majesty certainly knows a thing or two about being a young leader!

Meghan and Harry, who became a Commonwealth Youth Ambassador in April, will assist the Queen in handing out awards to the lucky winners on the special day. It’ll be an exciting day for the attendees and royal watchers alike, who adore seeing two of their favourite royals out and about together. Meghan, a fierce feminist and advocate on behalf of young people, is likely pleased to be able to be a part of such a momentous occasion with her husband, who also has young peoples’ well-being and the health of veterans at the forefront of his own initiatives.

From a young age, the Duchess of Sussex was advocating on behalf of women’s rights. When she was just a kid, the Suits alum saw a commercial for dish washing soap and had a few opinions about it. “I don’t think it’s right for kids to grow up thinking these things, that just mom does everything,” she said in an old interview, speaking of a letter she wrote to Proctor & Gamble and Hillary Clinton, addressing her concerns. “Write letters and send them to the right people, and you can make a difference.” The former actress surely would have been a candidate for a Young Leader’s award back then!
