Prince Harry Just Reunited with the Royal Family at Prince Philip's Funeral

For the first time since stepping down as a senior royal and moving to California, Prince Harry finally reunited with his family — albeit under sad circumstances. On Saturday afternoon, Harry attended Prince Philip's funeral and paid his respects to his late grandfather alongside other members of the monarchy.

He walked behind the casket in a pre-determined formation alongside his brother Prince William and father Prince Charles. Earlier Harry laid a wreathe that represented the Sussexes and included a note from Meghan Markle, who was not able to attend at this stage in her pregnancy.

Philip will be laid to rest at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle in a scaled-down ceremony surrounded by 30 close family members and friends. The guest list was limited due to COVID-19 social-distancing guidelines, but according to former Palace spokeswoman Alisa Anderson, it's probably what the duke would have wanted. "No fuss, no bother," Anderson told People. "Right through his life, he never knew what all the fuss was about."

Earlier this week, Harry touched down in the U.K. without his wife, Meghan Markle, who was "advised by her physician not to travel" at this point in her pregnancy. His arrival came two days after his grandfather's passing, and following the devastating news, Harry reflected on his memory in a personalized statement.

"My grandfather was a man of service, honor and great humor," Harry began. "He was authentically himself, with a seriously sharp wit, and could hold the attention of any room due to his charm — and also because you never knew what he might say next."

He continued, "He will be remembered as the longest-reigning consort to the Monarch, a decorated serviceman, a Prince and a Duke. But to me, like many of you who have lost a loved one or a grandparent over the pain of this past year, he was grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right 'til the end."

Harry added that Philip will be "sorely missed," and revealed that the duke will "always hold a special place" in the hearts of Meghan, Archie, and his "future great-granddaughter."
