Police searching for driver who killed woman in Grand Prairie hit-and-run accident

Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision in Grand Prairie on Friday that left one woman dead.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash at the 2300 block of West Main Street and found an adult female who had been hit by a vehicle in the roadway.

The woman, who was in a crosswalk, began crossing the street when a black vehicle traveling west on Main Street failed to stop for a red light and struck the pedestrian, police said.

The vehicle fled, and the female was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Monday, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office had not yet identified the victim.

Police believe the black vehicle, possibly a passenger car, sustained damage to the front driver’s side.
