Police searching for driver involved in motorcycle accident

Wood Buffalo RCMP are searching for a driver involved in a motorcycle accident in Timberlea.

Police confirmed on Oct. 12, that on Oct. 1 at 7:45 p.m. RCMP and the Fort McMurray Fire Department responded to a report of an accident on Loutit Road, west of Sandpiper Road.

A white SUV and a Harley Davidson motorcycle were driving eastbound on Loutit Road when the SUV conducted a lane change in front of the motorcycle.

The action of the lane change caused the rider to lose control of their motorcycle. The SUV continued on in the same direction after the accident and did not stop.

The rider, a 28-year old man from Fort McMurray, suffered minor injuries due to the accident and was taken to hospital. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white SUV and may have business advertising on the vehicle.

“At this time we are unsure if the driver of the SUV was aware of the accident,” said Cpl. Lacey Blair. “We were given very limited details about the vehicle involved. Just a white SUV with some form of business placard on the back.”
