Yahoo Movies PlayStation horror game Until Dawn is getting a movie adaptation
PlayStation horror game Until Dawn is set to get the movie treatment.
The hit title, which was released in 2015, follows eight friends who come together at a remote mountain retreat as their lives come under threat.
It has now been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that a film adaptation from Shazam!'s David F Sandberg is in the works, described as an R-rated love letter to horror.

The film is being written by The Nun's Gary Dauberman, who is working on a script originally penned by The Invitation's Blair Butler.
Until Dawn is the latest in a string of PlayStation adaptations, including the recent Gran Turismo movie, as well as the acclaimed HBO TV series The Last of Us.
The original game had a notable cast including Hayden Panettiere, Rami Malek, and Superstore's Nichole Sakura.
Sandberg, who is also on board as a producer for the movie, is no stranger to horror, having cut his teeth in the genre with the likes of Annabelle: Creation and Lights Out.

Last year, he helmed Shazam! sequel Fury of the Gods, and spoke to Digital Spy about an issue from rival superhero studio Marvel that he wanted to avoid.
"I'm sort of a little bummed out how with the serialisation of movies, how it turned into TV shows where it's like, I guess that's more of a Marvel thing at the moment," he said.
"Like, I love Marvel and everything, but it's kind of like, you're watching things like 'who’s that guy again', 'which movie was that' and 'what happened there?'"
Sandberg went on to reveal that he prefers when "movies are standalone, but they can still connect together".
Until Dawn is yet to confirm a cinema release date.
