Netflix has revealed the release date for The Platform 2 in an eerie first trailer.

The surprise follow-up to the hit 2020 sci-fi, which is set in a prison system where inmates are fed through a descending platform, was announced last year.

The streamer has now confirmed that the sequel will hit their platform later this year on October 4.

In the creepy first trailer, we get a taste of what to expect, including food falling through a hole, as well as terrifying shots of people with blood coming out of their mouths and a person on fire.

"What are you looking for in The Hole?" one character asks, another replying: "Time."

The Platform 2's full synopsis reads: "As a mysterious leader imposes their rule in the Platform, a new resident becomes embroiled in the battle against this controversial method to fight the brutal feeding system.
