At the "Hotel Transvylania" press conference, Selena Gomez took some flak for being the youngest star on the cast at 20. When Justin Bieber's girlfriend admitted she still lived at home, co-star Andy Samberg quipped, "Do they ever yell at you and say, 'Get a job!'?"

Comedian Adam Sandler took it upon himself to wake up the sleepy press at the "Hotel Transyvania" press conference with a joke about buzzy fest film, "The Master," an epic drama reportedly about Scientology. "What, did you guys just see 'The Master' or something?" he asked. "Wake up!"

Gomez offered an even funnier moment at TIFF when she expressed her surprise at finding herself in indie filmmaker Harmony Korine's raunchy film "Spring Breakers. "It was a challenge," Gomez said at the film's press conference, "and I didn’t think I'd ever be able to smoke a bong."

Famous for telling it like it is, Bill Murray lit up TIFF at the Sept. 9 press conference for "Hyde Park on the Hudson," in which he plays Franklin D. Roosevelt. Murray's best line? On how comedy improves one's mood, he said, "I don't hear people say, "I was feeling sick and miserable, and then I watched 'Shawshank Redemption' and felt great."

Returning to the spotlight after an extended break from Hollywood, Helen Hunt was all smiles at the press conference for her TIFF film "The Sessions," in which she plays a sex surrogate who helps a disabled man lose his virginity. The actress joked about being comfortable with on-screen nudity. "I might take my clothes off right here, not just in this movie!" she said.

Tom Hanks made Hugh Grant and everyone else smile at the "Cloud Atlas" press conference on Sept. 9. Hanks led a "Happy Birthday" singalong to Grant for his birthday, which was the same day as presser. "Thank you!" Grant said. "That’s the first nice thing the press have done for me!"

Jennifer Lawrence made a Canada-friendly joke during the "Silver Linings Playbook" press conference on Sept. 9. The "Hunger Games" star quipped that co-star Bradley Cooper, whose character gets angry everytime he hears a Stevie Wonder song, responds equally bizarrely to Canuck pop star Carly Rae Jepsen's summer anthem. "He cries every time he hears 'Call Me Maybe,'" Lawrence teased.

Ray Liotta broke the ice at the "Iceman" press conference with a joke that was equal parts funny and scary. When a journalist asked co-star Winona Ryder (for the second time that hour) how she felt about being back in the spotlight after so many years, Liotta stared the reporter down and quipped, "Let me take this one."

Unsurprisingly, at the press conference for "Looper," a time-traveling caper, stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis had to answer a lot of questions about time travel. In a sweet moment, JGL said that if he could give his younger self any advice it would be to "just tell my younger self to relax a bit. Well, like, an hour ago."

At the press conference for his film, "Argo," in which a bunch of American diplomats pose as a Canadian film crew, Ben Affleck joked that to be a believable Canadian, he just has "to be twice as nice" as he usually is.
