Oh it's happening alright. Arnold Schwarzenegger posted this photo from the set of "The Expendables 3" on Friday along with the note: "It was a fantastic first day of filming on Expendables 3. Great to work with Harrison [Ford] and our director, Patrick [Hughes]." The action film, also starring (and written by) Sylvester Stallone, is scheduled to blow our minds in theaters next summer.

Slipping Into Costume
Katie Holmes is flashing some leg from underneath that petticoat on the set of her upcoming dark comedy "Miss Meadows," spotted last week shooting her film in Cleveland, Ohio. The 34-year-old actress was first seen in a wedding dress during filming, but a few days later her costume got pared down to not much more than a slip. Holmes plays Miss Meadows, a substitute school teacher with flawless manners and grace in the film due in theaters next year.

The Old Smooch and Giggle
The scene calls for passion, but Robert Pattinson and co-star Mia Wasikowska can't help but laugh and smile in between takes while shooting the David Cronenberg film "Maps to the Stars" on Wednesday in Los Angeles. Pattinson plays a limo driver and aspiring actor in the 2014 thriller, described as a scathing attack on celebrity obsession. His key to shooting love scenes? "You've got to really know what you're doing," he told MTV News in 2011. "If it's just a sort of arbitrary love scene, it'd be quite difficult."

Photos from the London set of Marvel Studio's "Guardians of the Galaxy" were snapped on Sunday showing off a large crowd of actors made up to look like a range of alien creatures. And that catlike woman on the left was identified in the press as being none other than 6-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close. But Walt Disney Pictures confirmed to Yahoo! Movies that the woman in the photo isn't actually Close, but someone else entirely. The 66-year-old actress does play the leader of an intergalactic police force called Nova Corps in the comic adaptation currently filming, but the woman in this photo is not her.

Lacking in Look, Betting on Spirit
Okay, so Paul Dano doesn't naturally resemble Brian Wilson (left inset, 1964), but he does appear to have appropriately gained weight for the role. Add to that the right hairdo and period-perfect clothes, and Dano — seen filming the Beach Boys biopic "Love & Mercy" in Malibu, California, on Tuesday — has all the right ingredients to enhance his depiction of the famous singer-songwriter.

That beard is truly illogical. Hunky "Star Trek" star Chris Pine was looking decidedly different from Captain James T.
