It is one thing to get engaged and another to plan the wedding and then actually get married. Jason Segel and Emily Blunt play a couple whose wedding plans keep getting stalled in "The Five-Year Engagement," in theaters this weekend. And just because it happens on the big screen, doesn't mean it ceases to occur in real life. Here are celebrity couples who have taken the long road toward marriage.

Seth Rogen & Lauren Miller
One can only wonder if Jason Segel gained inspiration for "The Five-Year Engagement"—which he co-wrote with director Nicholas Stoller—from his longtime bud, former "Freaks and Geeks" co-star Seth Rogen. Rogen, now 30, had been dating longtime girlfriend Lauren Miller for nearly six years before popping the question in September 2010. Miller is said to have nearly given up hope that Rogen would ever propose. The two wed in October, 2011.

Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard
Our favorite tall man, little lady combo, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have been dating since 2007 and have been engaged since January 2010. Known for their fun-loving PDA, the thirty-something couple seems inseparable. Make it official, Dax!

Rachel Bilson & Hayden Christensen
Rachel Bilson, 30, and Hayden Christensen, 31, have been on-again, off-again, and on-again. The two, who met on the set of "Jumper," got engaged in 2008, split in 2010, and shortly thereafter got back together. They have been simply dating ever since—sans ring. Boring!

Maggie Gyllenhaal & Peter Sarsgaard
Maggie Gyllenhaal, now 34, and Peter Sarsgaard, now 41, have been together since 2002. The two award-winning actors became engaged in 2006, waiting more than three years to get married (in May, 2009). The couple has one child Ramona, born in '06, and one more on the way!

Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green
One long engagement and another short one: Megan Fox, 25, and Brian Austin Green, 38, have been together since 2004. They were engaged in 2006, broke it off in 2009, became engaged again in June, 2010, and got married in that same month. The couple is said to be expecting their first child.

Matthew McConaughey & Camilla Alves
We all know Matthew McConaughey, 42, dances to the beat of his own drum. So, it's no wonder he is taking a non-traditional route to the alter with 30-year-old model Camilla Alves: The couple, together since 2007, had two children before getting engaged on Christmas Day in 2011.

Jennifer Hudson & David Otunga
Grammy-and-Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, 30, became engaged to WWE wrestler and Harvard Law graduate David Otunga in 2008. The couple had their first child in 2009 and has yet to officially wed. Otunga joined Hudson on Monday at the murder trial for the man accused of killing three of her family members, including her mother.

Heather Matazzaro & Carolyn Murphy
Heather Matazzaro and Carolyn Murphy became engaged back in 2008. Three years later they planned a wedding in New York after same-sex marriage there was legalized. Twenty-nine-year-old Matazzaro first became known for her breakout role in "Welcome to the Dollhouse" (1995), thereafter appearing in several television shows and films including "The Princess Diaries" (2001).

Chris Noth & Tara Wilson
Like his character Mr. Big on "Sex and the City," Chris Noth, 57, took a while to warm up to a wedding in real life. Noth started dating Canadian actress Tara Wilson in 2004. The couple had their first child in 2008 and finally got married earlier this month.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie
Saving the best for last, Brad finally put a ring on it! Angelina Jolie, 36, and Brad Pitt, 48, have been together since around the time they met on the set of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" (2005). Seven years and six kids later, the mega-famous couple are now engaged.
